Target in San Francisco has locked all of its merchandise into cabinets.

The Target store on Folsom Street in San Francisco has closed all of its products in glass cabinets as thefts become more common. Target officials confirmed that merchandise behind glass is a theft prevention measure.

Theft costs stores an estimated $100 billion a year, according to the National Retail Federation. The same organization compiled a rating of megacities most affected by thefts: San Francisco took second place, losing first to Los Angeles.
