More than 150 thousand New Yorkers could lose their driver's licenses
If your driver's license expired between March 1, 2020 and August 31, 2021, and you renewed it online, you now need to urgently take a vision test and submit the results to the DMV. Otherwise, your driver's license will be suspended, NBC reports. It is better to get tested at a hospital that cooperates with the DMV (list). Then the hospital itself will send the results to the Department. If you will be tested at a hospital that is not on the DMV roster, ask the doctor to fill out an MV-619 vision test report. After that, it's up to you to send it to the DMV. You can do this:
-electronically - fill out and submit a short web form based on the data specified by the doctor;
-by mail - send the completed report to: License Production Bureau, PO Box 2688-ESP, Albany, NY 12220-0668, Attn: Vision Registry.
You can also get a vision test at your local DMV office.
