New York's St. Patrick's Day parade is considered the largest in the world.

On Friday, March 17, millions of people took to the streets of New York City to watch the city's historic St. Patrick's Day Parade. The parade in New York began at exactly 11:00 am. About 250 people took part. This year's parade traveled down Fifth Avenue, starting at East 000th Street and ending at East 44th Street, passing St. Patrick's Cathedral along the way. Representatives from New York State and Ireland took part in the parade, including New York State Governor Kathy Hochul, New York Mayor Eric Adams, Attorney General Letitia James, Irish Consul General in New York Helena Nolan and Irish Tánaiste Michelle Martin.

Hilary Byrne, Founding Chairman of the New York St. Patrick's Day Foundation, said, "We are again pleased to partner with WNBC to broadcast the historic 262nd New York St. Patrick's Day Parade on March 17, 2023. This parade, which began in 1762, , has survived the Revolutionary War, World War I, World War II, the Great Depression, the 1918 and 2022 pandemics, and this year we will see the return of players and orchestras from across the country on a scale we haven't seen since 2019 due to the pandemic ".

For the first time, the New York City St. Patrick's Day Parade is also available to national and international audiences through NBC New York News streaming on Peacock, The Roku Channel, Samsung TV Plus and Xumo Play.
