A passenger died in the subway after being choked
According to the NYPD, a 30-year-old man began shouting loudly at people and even threatening passengers on a subway train at the Broadway-Lafayette Street station in Manhattan. At that moment, a 24-year-old New York resident was in the carriage and tried to calm the aggressive man, but he continued to disrupt public order. Then the passenger used a chokehold on the man. The suspect lost consciousness. Doctors were unable to save him.
The police detained the passenger. However, it has not yet been announced whether he will be charged. Law enforcement officials said that the deceased man had previously repeatedly violated the law. He was arrested for various offenses. They were also accused of hooliganism and assault.
