Toll plan nearly approved
The federal government approves the MTA's plan to charge those driving in Manhattan south of 60th Street a toll. FHWA currently requires exemptions for taxis, rental cars, and low-income drivers. The exact amounts of the fees have not yet been announced, but the price must first be recommended by the Road Mobility Review Board and approved by the MTA. Ideas currently range from $5 to $23.
