In Elgin (Texas), two cheerleaders, returning home from practice, were victims of an armed attack: one of the girls, Heather Routh, accidentally got into someone else's car, but when she saw a guy in the passenger seat, she left the car. The athletes got into their car, but the guy, 2-year-old Pedro Tello Rodriguez, approached the passenger window and opened fire on the girls. A second cheerleader, 25-year-old Payton Washington, was injured. She was wounded in the back and leg. Washington is currently in the intensive care unit.
Rodriguez is currently being held with bail set at $500.
