Scientists may have found a way to defeat Alzheimer's disease

Neuroscientists at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology conducted an experiment on sick mice: they treated them with a special peptide that blocks the CDK5 enzyme, which is responsible for the development of Alzheimer's disease. The experiment delighted scientists: they found a significant reduction in neurodegeneration and DNA damage in the brains of mice.

Now the researchers have to conduct appropriate tests on humans. Doctors are extremely optimistic and believe that the peptide they discovered will be able to successfully treat Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia associated with hyperactivation of the CDK5 enzyme.
