DACA immigrants will be able to get health insurance
Joe Biden announced that DACA immigrants will be able to enroll in Medicaid coverage in most states. DACA is a program that allows migrants who were brought to the United States as children to receive a renewable 2-year reprieve from deportation with the possibility of obtaining a work permit. Previously, this category of people did not have access to federal health insurance programs.
“They are American in every way except on paper. Health care should be a right, not a privilege,” Biden said.
