US population migrates to Republican states

The last few years have been unusually difficult for American cities. They have survived a pandemic, BLM pogroms, a rise in crime - with a 44% increase in murders alone in two years, a mass exodus of population and a clear decline. A comparison of mobile phone usage activity shows a very depressing picture. For example, in San Francisco it is 32% of the indicators of the last “peaceful” winter - 2019-2020. In St. Louis - 38%, and in Portland, Indianapolis and Minneapolis - 40-41% each. More than half the population never returned to these cities.

San Francisco has long been the epitome of degradation. In recent months, large retailers such as Nordstrom and Whole Foods have begun to leave the city. They are closing their stores due to the appalling crime situation, constant robberies and an army of homeless people and drug addicts that the city authorities simply cannot cope with. It got to the point that California Governor Gavin Newsom sent the National Guard to San Francisco to fight the drug mafia. However, this is unlikely to stop the city's rapid decline. The population is flowing out of both San Francisco and California as a whole - leaving for Republican states.

61% of US counties that voted for Biden in 2020 shrank in population. On the contrary, 65% of Trump's districts grew due to internal migration. In fact, this is already forming the beginnings of what is called the “national divorce” of the United States - with a division into growing Republican states and Democratic Party enclaves that are in obvious crisis.
