Most Americans watch the weather forecast on the Weather Channel
YouGov survey on Americans' trust in various media:
1-2) The Weather Channel is the most trusted *drum roll* weather forecast channel, PBS is in second place, and the British BBC is in third place. In 2023, trust in media has increased significantly compared to last year;
3-5) There is quite a big difference between Democratic and Republican voters. Most voters of both parties trust only the Weather Channel, but that's where the similarities end: Democrats trust PBS and ABC News the most, Republicans trust Fox News and Newsmax.
Democrats overall trust the media more (median 46%) than Republicans (median just 24%). Philip Bump from the Washington Post made a good graph based on a survey, which shows that Republicans trust only 5 publications, while Democrats trust several dozen. Another graph compares the median trust scores among respondents with the value for each media outlet - publications in the lower left corner are distrusted by voters of both parties, and vice versa in the upper right.
