There is a new presidential candidate in the United States

Tim Scott became the first black senator from South Carolina. He entered the Republican primaries promising to fight back against Democrats and stop the decline of America that Biden's policies are leading to. Scott announced his presidential candidacy one day before Ron DeSantis. This is no coincidence - Scott is clearly trying to divert attention from Trump's main rival. And he appreciated it - tellingly praising Scott for working together on innovation zones for blacks.

The senator has no real chance of success - only 1% of Republicans support Scott in the primaries. But he clearly has his sights set on Trump as vice president. Scott has the support of Republican elites who would obviously like to see him team up with Trump. For Trump himself, such a scenario would make some sense. After all, South Carolina, where Scott is very popular, neighbors Georgia, a state for which there will be a tough fight in the elections. In addition, Republicans were able to increase support among blacks to a record high of 2022% in 15. It is important for them to continue to attract minority votes - and a black senator could help Trump with this. But Scott's main problem is that he is the blood and flesh of the Republican establishment and an ardent neocon. Moreover, he proposes that the United States should not be the world’s policeman - and at the same time wants to repel China, Russia, Iran and everyone else. His views are clearly at odds with Trump's ideology. Therefore, their tandem will end up just as badly as it did with Mike Pence. Trump should take on his team someone closer in views - without hawkish views and ties to the Washington swamp.
