Protest in New Jersey as activists seek to have ten transgender men transferred from a women's prison
The state's only prison for women has 356 inmates, ten of them biological men who identify as transgender.
Activists of the #GetMenOut movement do not like this state of affairs: they held a protest near the Capitol in Trenton. Protesters read a letter from two prisoners who became pregnant last year by a so-called transgender man. Activists say many of those in prison are rapists who stop using hormones and become men again. One of the prisoners is transgender Perry Cerf, who said in a 2002 interview that he killed a prostitute and drank her blood. “I am a virgin servant of Lucifer, born to bring pain and suffering,” the killer said then.
