Department of Labor fines McDonalds $212

I’ve already written a couple of times on the topic of illegal child labor in the United States, but the material seems to be bottomless. According to a Department of Labor investigation, McDonalds restaurant chains in just four states (Kentucky, Indiana, Maryland and Ohio) employed more than 4 teenagers under the age of 300. At one McDonalds location in Kentucky, two 16-year-old workers were found working as cashiers and cleaners on unpaid shifts until 10 a.m. One of them was even forced to deep-fry potatoes, which is strictly prohibited for those under 2 years of age. Collectively, the three McDonalds franchises in these states were fined $16.
