Moderna is conducting clinical trials of a vaccine against cytomegalovirus
Today I received a message from the pharmacy where we usually get our medications that Moderna is conducting clinical trials of a vaccine against cytomegalovirus (CMV), a highly contagious viral infection that can harm an unborn baby. Moderna is said to be conducting a clinical trial on healthy women aged 16 to 40 years. I was asked to take a survey to find out for sure whether I met the criteria for testing or not. There were questions about age, gender, whether I had a small child, whether I was pregnant or planning to become pregnant within the next 9 months, and whether I had participated in another clinical trial within the last month. I answered no to all the questions and was told that I did not meet the criteria for the study.
