The world's fastest passenger plane, Concorde, can be visited for $12

Where can you go while walking along the Hudson River in Manhattan? For example, as an excursion you can visit the world's fastest passenger plane, Concorde, which is located in the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum on the pier. I didn’t know, it turns out that only 20 supersonic aircraft were produced; in New York there is the 14th one (210 / G-BOAD), which flew from 1976 to 2003, and managed to set an aviation record, flying from New York to London in 2 hours and 53 minutes in 1996. And it is also the most “flying” of all Concordes in terms of the number of flight hours.

In general, Concords are about records:

1. Record flight speed - 2,167 km/h and the first fly-by-wire aircraft - when the aircraft is controlled through wires/computer, and not hydraulics

2. A record noisy plane, so much so that residents could not stand it and began to protest, after which the US Congress banned the landing of Concordes on US territory. Routes were also banned in Malaysia and India due to noise. And this even takes into account the fact that Concorde only reaches supersonic speed over the ocean, so as not to jam people on the continents :-)

3. The record flight altitude is 18 thousand meters - this is so high that it is already clear that the earth is not flat

4. Record fuel consumption creates new records for the cost of a flight; a one-way ticket (pictured) cost $6,703 - and this was in 1997! Although the plane itself has record small windows and a rather poor interior by today's standards.

5. They say that in almost 40 years of flight there is only one photo of the Condord flying at supersonic speed... because nothing flies at the same speed to take such photos

As part of the excursion for $12, they let you sit in the cabin, look into the Cockpit and sit in the pilots’ seats, they briefly talk about the history of the Concordes, and also honestly remember the Tu-144, which performed only 55 passenger flights.
