WHO reported an outbreak of the virus back in February, but now a real epidemic is beginning in Africa - especially in Guinea and Tanzania. American authorities urge travelers who travel to the “dark continent” to take preventive measures. But there is no effective vaccine or cure for the Marburg virus. High fever, internal bleeding, and painful headaches are the main symptoms of the disease. The mortality rate from Marburg is very high, since there is no effective treatment: sometimes immunotherapy or blood transfusion of a recovered patient is used.
