10 Best New Restaurants in New York City for 2022

We all love themed places, high concept places created after certain movies, cats, dolls, as well as speakeasy style bars or romantic establishments. However, the most pronounced real restaurant trend this year has been the abundance of pretty good places. This makes the list of the best new restaurants in New York City 2022 even more significant.

1. Clover Hill

The restaurant got its second start in February after a poor start in December 2019. His comeback has been a roaring one, earning him recognition from Michelin and his executive chef/co-owner Charlie Mitchell, who was named Young Chef of the Year in October. Its tasting menu changes seasonally: aguachile with Kombu scallops, crimini mushrooms and truffle-stuffed flounder, and chicken lightly complemented with foie gras and lobster.

2. Dept of Culture

In the early days of the pandemic, many restaurants planned or promised to host some sort of dinner party. Ayo Balogun actually did it at Dept of Culture, which opened in January. With just 16 people per seat, they bring their own booze and gather around a communal table for four north-central Nigerian-influenced courses that may include hot pepper soup and gbegiri.

3. Gus's Chop House
It's a nice place for a night out, with a great, expensive menu. You'll find Sunday roasts, anytime pork roasted in binchotan, and good classic cocktails.

4. Laser Wolf

Once you get to the rooftop of The Hoxton it's fun, lively and crowded. Of course, the Shipudia skewers are amazing, but the unlimited selection of salads is amazing, especially the perfect hummus, babaganoush, harissa giants, Turkish celery root and green beans with matbukha. The beautiful view of the horizon also demands attention.

5. Le Gratin

In truth, he owes the lion's share of his design to the previous owner of the Augustine restaurant. The Lyon quintessential quenelle de brochet au gratin is also a must here, in addition to the gratin dauphinois comme marie, peak escargot served with a lovely duck and a bubbly tower of seafood.

6. Le Rock

The highly anticipated Le Rock led the rumors of the still-speculated revival of Rockefeller Center. The chicken liver mousse from the amuses section of the menu is delicious, the corn and chanterelle agnolletti beats all the new pasta in town, the bison and duck rank among the best meats, and the desserts are outstanding and delicious.

7.Masalawala & Sons

It looks like this year just can't go without another exceptional project from Unapologetic Foods, whose Dhamaka restaurant was one of the best new restaurants of 2021. The original and different Masalawala closed after ten years on the Lower East Side in 2021, and this one opened in Brooklyn this September. His new cocktails are extraordinarily good, the rice is extraordinary, and the keema kaleji will have you clicking on your reservation notification before you're even out the door.

8. Nudibranch

More often than not, a restaurant may be overtly cool or have great food, but it's rare that the two come together. Nudibranch is an exception to the rule. Jeff Kim and Matthew Lee's three-course tasting includes fried frog legs and the city's best mushrooms.

9.Potluck Club

This is a chic place that is created for true connoisseurs. Chef Zhang Chen's Cantonese-American menu is called "new takes on old classics," with winning dishes like roasted short ribs, spicy eggplant and fried rice with shrimp, sausage and the technically optional but important addition of tea egg.

10. Zaab Zaab

Zaab Zaab has received plenty of accolades since opening its small, extremely inviting and welcoming space in April. Chef Aniwat Khotsop's one-page menu, which showcases the "true flavors of Thailand's northeastern Isaan region," can be mixed and matched over many visits, but it will take some time to move past the gaeng om's vibrant heat and layers aromas of beef shin, celebratory mut tod pla ra and signature larb ped udon.
