It's always fun to watch chefs prepare delicious dishes on TV - until you get hungry. Come to New York and try the authentic dishes that made the chefs famous. 

 

1.Marc Forgione's American Cut

Iron Chef Mark Forgione has his famous restaurant in the city, as well as his own steakhouse. American Cut offers all the luxury you'd expect from a Michelin-starred steakhouse. Start the evening with the signature chili lobster, and raw seafood can be ordered as a crudo or tower. All steaks, from filet mignon to wagyu, can be cooked to order with such delights as bone marrow-stuffed flambé. 

 

2.Christina Tosi's Milk Bar

Milk Bar is the dessert branch of the Momofuku empire. The restaurant is led by Christina Tosi, who was featured on an episode of Chef's Table for dessert cooking. Her signature recipes include Crack Butter Pie and Cereal Milk Ice Cream, which can be made into a shake with added grain blends. In addition to the original East Village location, Milk Bar can be found in seven other locations in Manhattan and Brooklyn. 

 

3.Marcus Samuelsson's Red Rooster

If you're looking for a more casual setting, head to Red Rooster. They have some of the best fried chicken, cornbread, and mac and cheese in the world. Chef Marcus Samuelsson has had an illustrious career, from cooking the Obama administration's first state dinner to winning Top Chef Masters.

The name Jean-Georges Vongerichten can be found in a wide range of New York fine dining restaurants. His Michelin-starred restaurant pays tribute to its tasting menus served on white tablecloths with impeccable service. ABC Cocina offers Latin cuisine from Diablo margheritas to patatas bravas and BBQ pork tacos. 

 

5.David Burke Tavern

Celebrity chef and restaurateur David Burke uses his signature pink Himalayan salt not only in his dishes, but also in the interior design of David Burke Tavern. This seasonal eatery occupies a beautiful mansion where one of the dining rooms is lined with pink salt bricks on the walls. The menu includes Burke's Clothesline Bacon appetizer, as well as other beautifully prepared protein dishes like Wagyu ribs with salsa verde and roasted branzino with artichoke puree. 

 

6.David Chang's Momofuku Noodle Bar

You may have seen David Chang's Netflix series "Ugly Delicious" or tried his best-selling cookbook Momofuku. In New York, you can sample food straight from Chang's kitchen at one of his many Momofuku restaurants. If you haven't had the chance yet, visit the noodle shop that started it all: Momofuku Noodle Bar in the East Village. Here you will find a huge bowl of ramen prepared in the Sichuan style. Buns, oxtail, chicken wings, Soju Slushie are all hits on this ever-changing Asian fusion menu.

 

7.Danny Meyer's Gramercy Tavern

Danny Meyer is among the city's most successful restaurateurs, having made a name for himself with Union Square Cafe and expanding his operations to establishments like Blue Smoke, Maialino, The Modern and even Shake Shack. Meyer's Michelin-starred restaurant Gramercy Tavern, founded in 1994, boasts excellent cuisine that is considered a classic. 

 

8.Top Chef Winner Buddha Lo at HŪSO

The "caviar cafe" HŪSO can be reached through the window of the Marky's Caviar store, which offers delivery throughout the city of one of the most valuable varieties of caviar (known to connoisseurs as "huso-huso"). The cafe is run by fine dining veteran Buddha Lo, winner of the 19th season of Top Chef. It offers an 8-course tasting menu.

 

9.Tom Colicchio's Craft

Vallata, Tom Colicchio's first Italian restaurant, offers sumptuous cuisine in the city center, but if you want to try the celebrity's original dishes, you should visit his restaurant Craft. It has been in business since 2001 and still produces excellent food according to the chef's "what's local is the best" philosophy. The dinner menu includes wild fish, fresh oysters, deli meats and gourmet pastas. 

 

10.Sushi Nakazawa

Daisuke Nakazawa trained with the world's most prominent sushi chef, Jiro Sukiyabashi, at his famous Tokyo restaurant, and then opened his own restaurant, Sushi Nakazawa. 11.Eric Ripert's Le Bernardin
